Brazil’s head coach, Mano Menezes acknowledged his team’s poor performance, following their surprising defeat to Mexico at Wembley.
“I am very sad,” Menezes told Globoesporte. “We had done an excellent job till we reached the final. We were confident in achieving gold, but we could not replicate our other performances.”
Without hesitation, he went on to praise the Mexican National Team. “We can only recognize the superiority of our opponent and congratulate them for the prize we would have liked to see as ours.”
Neymar, the 20-year old superstar, also admitted to falling short. “If Mexico won, they were better,” Neymar told Espn Brazil. “Football is made up of wins and losses, no matter how much we try to honour this shirt,” he concluded.
Who ever said public schools don’t have money? Turns out a $60 million dollar high school football stadium is just what Allen High School needed. Sure, that’s an 18,000 seat mega stadium, but they can afford that when they have 8,000 season ticket holders every season.
The sunken-bowl design facility will include a 75 x 45 ft HD video scoreboard along with a weight room. No need to worry about their fans cheering them on as the entire home side is sold out for the entire season. Good luck to the Allen Eagles who start their season August 31st!
Mr. Floyd Mayweather has finally spoken to the press this week, for the first time since being released from Las Vegas jail.
While on the red carpet of 50 Cent’s new movie premier, Mayweather was of course asked about Manny Pacquiao. Even though the answer was kept short, Mayweather did make it clear that he hopes to make the fight happen sometime soon.
“I think Pacquiao’s an unbelievable fighter and hopefully we can make the fight happen in the future,” Mayweather stated.
With 50 Cent entering the boxing industry, many speculate that the rapper could be the one to make the super-fight happen in New York City. Will the music artist save the day and actually make the fight everyone wants to see happen? Lets hope so…
Who would you put your money on, “Money” or “Pacman”?
A look at the lives of Pete and Debbie a few years after the events of Knocked Up.
Mr. Terrell Owens is back in the NFL, this time with the Seattle Seahawks. According to ESPN, the veteran wide receiver signed a one-year deal worth $1 million.
Owens expressed his gratitude through his official Twitter on Monday night where he wrote, “God is good. Thankful. Grateful. To ALL my new teammates & the “12th Man”… Let’s Do This!! ”
Can T.O. come back?
Apparently Owen’s new coach, Pete Carroll thinks so. He tweeted, “@terrellowens welcome to the land of the #12thMan Terrell, see you in the morning… 8am meetings!!”
Owen’s resume certainly speaks for itself (1,078 career receptions, 15,934 touchdowns), but we’ll have to wait and see if he still has what it takes to shine in the National Football League.
Major League Soccer has been growing exponentially at a very fast pace in the last few years. Since David Beckham’s arrival in 2007, U.S soccer has caught the attention of world class players such as Thierry Henry, Tim Cahill, Rafael Marquez and Torsten Frings among others.
The popularity boost has definitely improved the leagues level along with its reputation. It now turns out that Cristiano Ronaldo, one of the best players in the world, might be interested in joining the MLS in the future.
Real Madrid and the Portuguese forward have been on tour in the United States for the last few weeks training in preparation for the start of La Liga. Speaking to MLS’s official website, Ronaldo declared his interest when asked about playing in the United States.
“”(The soccer here) is good, but it can be better. If I can help it to be better, soccer here, I can help. I think they are great, they are in a good way,” he said. I hope to come here to play one day,” stated CR7.
Do you think Ronaldo will follow Beckham’s footsteps and join the MLS someday?
