NASA’s Curiosity rover lands successfully on Mars
NASA’s rover, Curiosity, has successfully landed on Mars. Cheers echoed through the NASA lab after the most technologically advanced rover ever built was able to go through the atmosphere at 13,000 mph. “Touchdown confirmed,” said engineer Chen. “We’re safe on Mars.”
The mission is scheduled to last 2 years, but could surpass that time period as long as Curiosity still responds. The rover is equipped with 17 cameras, a laser that surveys the composition of rocks along with other analyzing instruments.
The $2.5 billion project will try to explore signs of organic life in Mars and will be sending pictures back to Earth frequently. Here are a few of them that have already been received.
